Report defects in streets including potholes, missing manhole covers, or faded street markings

What to do

1. Fill out a form

Describe the street issue or pothole you want to report. 

We will need:

  • The location
  • Nature of request

Include a photo to assist with identification and response.

2. Track your case

After you report, you will get a tracking number from 311. You can use this number, or your email address, to track your case online or on the SF311 mobile app. 

Expected response time

  • Construction plate shifted: as soon as possible
  • Manhole cover off: as soon as possible
  • Utility excavation: as soon as possible
  • Pavement defect (pothole): 3 calendar days
